I begin homeschooling our youngest in a few weeks.
Confession: I am TERRIFIED of teaching my son!
He is a sweet little guy, but he is not near as interested in school and learning as his older sister was when I taught her. My daughter would BEG me to teach her more than I had planned each day. We finished an entire year of work in less than 3 months and I spent the remainder of the school year “supplementing”. My dear, sweet son on the other hand, answers questions wrong {on purpose} and will redirect the questions and say things like, “Hmm…Mom, why don’t you do it?” {insert sigh of defeat}.
I am so afraid I will not be the teacher he needs or that I will not reach him and his learning style.
What if I am not preparing him well enough for the future!?
Right now I am creating new resources for our classroom. As I create worksheets and supplemental activities for him, I will be blogging about them {and our many adventures} and posting them here.
As a former classroom teacher, I am keenly aware of what needs to be used in the classroom. As a homeschool teacher and parent, I realize that there are different needs when you only have one learner in the classroom. Therefore, the resources I create will be usable both in the classroom and in a homeschool setting. Additionally, these resources are also good for supplemental activities for parents wanting to give their children an extra boost.

Coloring is one of my favorite activities. And these worksheets are both fun and educational! Win-Win, right!? They are great for Back-to-School and involve students coloring using a key. The coloring sheets use both upper and lowercase letters and numbers 1-9. I have a
I can hardly wait to use them for my son! If you’d like to see the Back-to-School worksheets I’ve created, click here.
I love those coloring sheets! Thanks for posting the link. I look forward to hearing more about your homeschooling adventures with your son!

Thank you so much, Nicky S! I have so much fun creating them! Then I can hardly wait to get them into my kids hands! 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to respond! I loved hearing from you!
This is exactly why I don’t homeschoolm own students. I sadly have more patience in the classroom, and I know it. It is so hard to get my son to buckle down and focus.

Yes, Amy, I am really anxious about what this year will look like. I think I will have to be a lot more patient and adapt more than I’ve ever had to do in the past.
I’ll keep you posted, though! 😉
